Why we built it

Finding a groomer usually means a map full of pins, a few star ratings, and no way to tell who is insured, who works from a real van or salon, and who is good with a nervous dog. Pet parents end up guessing. Groomers who do everything right end up looking the same as everyone else.

GroomLocator exists to close that gap. Every listing shows the groomer's public Google rating exactly as it is, a phone number you can call, and, where the groomer has told us, the details that matter before a first visit: what they groom, how they handle anxious pets, what they charge to start.

The Mobile Grooming Standard

The Mobile Grooming Standard™ is our verification program. It is not a grooming certificate and it does not judge anyone's scissor work. It confirms the things a careful owner would ask about before handing over the leash: current liability insurance, a real grooming setup shown in photos, documented training for the Certified tier, and a signed background attestation. A person reviews every application, and every badge is re-checked after twelve months.

Listings that pass carry a small TGS Verified or TGS Certified mark. Groomers pay for that review; nobody pays to be listed, and no one can buy a badge without passing the checks.

How verification works

How the directory works

Listings come from public business information and are updated on a rolling basis. When a groomer claims their listing, they take over its details: photos, services and prices, hours, service area, and the answers to the questions pet parents ask most. Claimed listings say so on the page.

We do not take bookings and we do not sit between you and the groomer. You read, you compare, you call. If something on a listing is wrong, the groomer can fix it from their dashboard, and you can tell us through the contact page.

Where listings come from

Records enter the directory from public business information and are refreshed on a rolling basis. When an owner claims a listing, they take over its details, and the page is marked “Owner confirmed” so you know the groomer is standing behind what it says.

Details on an unclaimed listing are externally sourced and may be out of date. A number can change, a van can be retired, a salon can move. If you spot something wrong, anyone can report a correction from the contact page and we will check it.

Who runs it

GroomLocator is built and run by Amped Design LLC, a small independent studio on Long Island, New York, founded by Eric Cronin, with a background in local business websites and search. We are pet people first. The directory is supported by groomers who choose to get verified and by a small amount of clearly labeled advertising from grooming franchises.
