Terms of Service

The agreement

These terms are between you and Amped Design LLC, doing business as GroomLocator, a New York company. They apply to groomlocator.com, the groomer dashboard, and every service we offer through the site. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information and is part of these terms.

We are a directory, not a groomer

GroomLocator publishes information about pet groomers so pet owners can find and contact them. That is all we do. We do not provide grooming. We do not take bookings, set prices, schedule visits, or handle payment between you and a groomer. We do not employ, supervise, or vouch for anyone listed.

When you call, message, or hire a groomer you found here, the arrangement is between you and that groomer. Any dispute about the service, the price, or the care of your pet is between the two of you. We are not a party to it.

Listings and accuracy

The directory is built from publicly available business information, refreshed on a rolling basis. Names, addresses, phone numbers, hours, and ratings come from those public sources unless the listing is marked as owner confirmed. Public data is imperfect. A business may have moved, closed, changed its number, or never offered mobile service in the first place.

We do our best to keep listings accurate but we cannot promise that any listing is complete, current, or correct. Check the details with the groomer before you rely on them, especially before a first visit. If a listing is wrong, tell us through the contact page and we will look at it.

Ratings and review counts shown on listings are reproduced from Google and reflect what Google publishes. We do not write, edit, or moderate them.

Accounts

Pet owners can use the directory without an account. An account lets you save favorites and turn on alerts. You must give us a working email address and keep your login private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

You must be at least 18 to open an account of any kind. The site is not directed at children under 13.

Claiming a listing

A groomer can claim their listing for free. Claiming gives you control over the listing's details: photos, services, prices, hours, service area, and answers to common questions. Claimed listings are marked as owner confirmed on the page.

You may only claim a listing for a business you own or are authorized to represent. We confirm claims with an automated phone call to the number on the listing, but that check is not perfect. If you claim a listing that is not yours, we will remove the claim, may close your account, and may refuse future claims. If someone has claimed your listing without authority, tell us through the contact page and we will investigate.

If you delete your owner account or let it go, the listing returns to its public, unclaimed state and the details you added are removed.

The Mobile Grooming Standard

The Mobile Grooming Standard is our verification program. Groomers who apply submit documents such as a certificate of liability insurance, training certificates, photos of their grooming setup, and a signed background attestation. A member of our team reviews them. If they meet the published requirements, the listing receives a TGS Verified badge, and the TGS Certified mark as well if the groomer requested the add-on review and passed it.

Please understand what the badge means and what it does not. It means we reviewed the documents the groomer supplied, on the date we reviewed them, and they met our requirements at that time. It does not mean we inspected the groomer's vehicle or salon in person, watched them work, or checked their background beyond what they attested to. It is not a license, an endorsement, or a guarantee of the quality or safety of anyone's grooming. Insurance can lapse. Circumstances change. The badge cannot see any of that.

We may suspend or remove a badge at any time if a groomer's insurance lapses or cannot be confirmed, if we receive a credible complaint, if a document turns out to be inaccurate, or if the groomer stops meeting the requirements. We may ask for updated documents at renewal or whenever we have a reason to. We may also change the requirements for a badge or mark; when we do, existing badge holders will have a reasonable window to meet the new ones.

Groomers may only display the badge on GroomLocator or, if we provide badge artwork, in the form we provide. Do not describe the badge as a license or certification from any government or industry body. The Mobile Grooming Standard name and badge marks belong to us.

Paid subscriptions and refunds

Listing on GroomLocator is free. Verification is paid. There is one plan, TGS Verified, billed yearly, and an optional TGS Certified add-on billed as a second line on the same yearly subscription. Current prices are shown on the verification page and at checkout. Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.

• You are charged only after approval. Applying costs nothing. Your card is charged only when your application is approved and the badge is about to be issued. If you requested the Certified add-on with your application, both are charged together at that point.
• The subscription renews automatically. TGS Verified, and the Certified add-on if you have it, renew together on the anniversary of the first charge at the then-current standard price. We will email you before renewal.
• Introductory prices. From time to time we offer a reduced first-year price, such as a founding price for a limited number of groomers, or a reduced first year for the Certified add-on when it is added at your first checkout. An introductory price applies to the first year only and to the limits stated where it is offered. At renewal the subscription bills at the standard price in effect at that time. An add-on purchased after your first checkout is billed at the standard price from the start.
• Cancel any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your badge stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. You can also drop the Certified add-on and keep Verified. Cancel from the dashboard or through the Stripe billing portal.
• Refunds. If you change your mind within 14 days of a first charge and the badge has not yet been issued, we will refund that charge in full. Once a badge is issued, the fee covers a review that has already happened and is not refundable. Renewal charges are not refundable, so cancel before your renewal date if you do not want to continue.
• Suspension does not create a refund. If we suspend or remove a badge under these terms, the fee is not refunded.
• Taxes. Prices do not include sales tax where it applies.

Acceptable use

Use the site the way it is meant to be used. Do not:

• Claim a listing you are not authorized to control, or submit false documents for verification.
• Use the contact or visit-request forms to send spam, sales pitches, or harassment to groomers or to us.
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the directory, or use it to build a competing database or mailing list.
• Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, misleading, or that belongs to someone else.
• Try to break into, overload, or interfere with the site or any account.
• Use automated tools to create accounts or submit forms.

If you do any of this we may remove content, suspend or close your account, and remove your claim or badge, without a refund.

Content you submit

Whatever you add to a listing or send through the site stays yours. By submitting it you give us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, copy, and adapt it as needed to run and promote the directory, including in search results, on maps, in social previews, and in our own marketing. That license ends when you remove the content or your account is deleted, except for copies that already exist in caches, backups, or content we have already published in marketing.

You promise that you have the right to submit what you submit, that photos show your actual business, and that nothing you post infringes anyone else's rights. We may remove any content at our discretion.

Everything else on the site, including the design, the guides, the software, and the GroomLocator and Mobile Grooming Standard names and marks, belongs to us or our licensors. You may link to any page. You may not copy the site or its content beyond what is needed to use it as a visitor.

Disclaimers

The site and everything on it are provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any listing is accurate, or that any groomer is competent, insured, safe, or suitable for your pet.

You are responsible for choosing a groomer and for your pet's care. Ask questions, check credentials, and trust your judgment.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Amped Design LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or from any service you obtain from a groomer listed on it, however caused and under any theory of liability.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the site or these terms will not exceed the greater of one hundred dollars or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Some states do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Your responsibility for your content and claims

If someone brings a claim against us because of content you submitted, a listing you claimed, documents you supplied for verification, or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal fees.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by talking to us first will be brought in the state or federal courts located in the State of New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing anything, please reach out through the contact page. Most problems can be fixed in an email.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top is always current. For material changes we will email account holders before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that date means you accept the updated terms.

Everything else

If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce something right away, we have not given up the right to. You may not transfer your account or these terms to anyone else. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the site.
